Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of OnTiv (the "Service"). By loading a playlist, uploading a file, or otherwise using OnTiv, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.


1. What OnTiv Is

OnTiv is a media player only. It does not create, host, store, curate, sell, or provide any TV channel, stream, playlist, or Xtream Codes account. All content played through OnTiv — whether via an M3U URL, an uploaded playlist file, or Xtream Codes credentials — is supplied entirely by you, from sources you choose. OnTiv is not affiliated with, and does not endorse, any IPTV provider or content source you connect to.


2. Your Responsibility for Content

You are solely responsible for the playlists, streams, and services you access through OnTiv, and for ensuring you have the legal right to view that content in your jurisdiction. You agree not to use the Service to access, stream, or distribute content that infringes copyright or other intellectual property rights, or that otherwise violates applicable law. OnTiv does not verify the source, legality, or licensing of any playlist or stream you provide.


3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to infringe the rights of others
  • Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features of the Service, including the playlist proxy's safeguards
  • Use the Service to attack, scan, or gain unauthorized access to any third-party system
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or misuse the Service's source code beyond what its open license (if any) permits
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or the servers or networks connected to it

4. Third-Party Streams & Services

OnTiv plays media from URLs and providers outside our control. We have no relationship with, and make no representations about, the reliability, legality, content, or availability of any third-party stream, Xtream Codes provider, or playlist source. Playback failures, geo-restrictions, malicious content, or outages originating from third-party sources are outside our control and responsibility.

For convenience, the M3U URL field on our homepage is pre-filled with a public demo playlist (https://iptv-org.github.io/iptv/index.m3u) from the free, open-source iptv-org project. This is only a starting example, not content we provide, curate, or endorse — it is subject to the same third-party disclaimer above, and you may replace it with any playlist, file, or Xtream Codes login of your own choosing.


5. Intellectual Property

The OnTiv name, branding, interface, and underlying code (excluding third-party open-source components, which remain under their own licenses) belong to their respective owners. Except as permitted by an applicable open-source license, you may not copy, modify, or redistribute OnTiv's branding or proprietary code without permission.


6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any stream will play correctly, since playback depends on third-party sources we do not control.


7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OnTiv and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service or any third-party content, stream, or provider accessed through it.


8. Modification & Termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.


9. Copyright Complaints

OnTiv does not host content and cannot remove streams hosted by third parties. If you believe content accessible through a specific third-party stream or provider infringes your copyright, please pursue that claim directly with the operator of that stream or provider.
